If you are wondering why rapper Nicki Minaj was not present at this year's Met Gala on Sept 13, the answer may come as a surprise. The artiste tweeted on Monday that she would not be attending the fashion event as only those who have been vaccinated for Covid-19 were permitted entry.

Minaj, who has not been vaccinated, stressed that she wasn't necessarily against inoculation, but claimed that she would not do so just for the event.

"They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. If I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now," she tweeted.

Then, she advised her fans to stay vigilant. "In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one."

However, it was her follow-up tweet that got everyone talking ... and scratching their head. Minaj suggested that the vaccine's side effects include swollen testicles and difficulty in achieving erections.
