Hong Kong action star Sammo Hung was recently spotted shopping at a supermarket in mainland China.
Photos circulating on social media showed the 74-year-old browsing through the bottled water section while getting around in a motorised wheelchair.
A netizen who happened to encounter Hung noted that the actor was unaccompanied during the outing and described him as very down-to-earth when approached.
Despite using a wheelchair, Hung appeared to be in good spirits and was able to get around on his own, easing fans' concerns about his health.
For the record, Hung has mentioned on multiple occasions that going to the market on his own is a form of entertainment for him.
He underwent knee surgery in 2017 and has since relied on a wheelchair and walking stick to get around.
However, Hung's health has gradually improved with the dedicated care of his wife, former actress Joyce Godenzi, who closely monitors his diet.
"My wife doesn't allow me to eat much. I can eat fatty food but have to give up starch," he said in a past interview, adding that food was constantly on his mind.
In another interview, Hung revealed that his deteriorating eyesight had made it difficult for him to read scripts.
At the time, he said horse racing-related material was among the few things he could still read comfortably.
