Did Amber Tang leave TVB drama because her boyfriend was jealous over her kissing scenes?

Just a week before TVB series Doppelganger shoot involving Hong Kong actress Amber Tang was scheduled to start, there was a change in the cast list.

Tang suddenly left the production, and was replaced by actress Yuki Law.

This has started a speculation that Tang’s sudden departure is supposedly because her boyfriend actor Arnold Kwok was jealous over her kissing scenes in the show.

Kwok was apparently against the character’s “heated kissing scene” – as described by a Hong Kong news portal – with Doppelganger male co-star, Telford Wong.

The report went on to allege that Tang decided to leave the production to respect her boyfriend’s wishes.

While a producer of Doppelganger was quoted in the report, all he said was: “After discussing, we had no choice but to switch to a different actress.”

The 25-episode drama is headlined by Joe Ma and Alice Chan.

It centres on a successful lawyer and a not-so-successful man who look exactly alike.

One day the two men meet and they eventually switch identities. Both of these roles are played by Ma.
