Actor Aeril Zafrel shared on Instagram on Wednesday (Aug 4) that he has tested positive for Covid-19. It is his second positive result this year.

He received a positive result on Jan 20 and had to self-quarantine.

On Instagram, he posted a photo of him lying down with the caption: “Covid positive once more. Just this year, I have tested positive twice. How did this happen when I am just staying at home?”

The 32-year-old told a Malay news portal that after having fever and joint pain – similar to the symptoms he had when he tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this year, but even more painful – he decided to buy the self-test kit.

“But it showed a negative result,” Aeril was reported saying. “I wasn't satisfied with the outcome so I went to a clinic to get tested. And (this time) it came out positive.”

The Mandatori actor – who is married to actress Wawa Zainal and is father to three children – has self-quarantined himself at home.

He is said to have received his Covid-19 vaccine on July 25.
