Yoo Teo, who has starred in K-dramas Vagabond, Chocolate and Money Game, has nabbed the leading role in the upcoming Hollywood film Past Lives.
Described as a Korean romance, Past Lives is written by Celine Song (The Wheel Of Time), who will be making her feature directorial debut with the film. It’s produced by A24, which was behind award-winning features Minari and Moonlight.
The 40-year-old Yoo will be starring alongside Korean American actress Greta Lee who previously starred in Netflix series Russian Doll and Apple TV+’s The Morning Show.
Deadline.com reported that filming is set to begin later this year.
Yoo, who was born in Germany, played Korean Soviet rock singer Viktor Tsoi in the 2018 Russian film Leto. He is currently starring in variety show Honeymoon Tavern.
Since making his debut as an actor in 2003, he has been building an acting career in both Korean and non-Korean films.
His other ventures outside South Korea includes Hollywood movie Bitcoin Heist (2016) and Vietnamese-Thai flick The Moment (2017).
