Actress Tong Bing Yu – aka Chris Tong – took part in an IG Live on July 10 with radio deejays Nicholas Ong and Phoebe Yap to discuss how to contribute to the White Flag movement.
They were in midst conversation when a netizen requested to participate in the livestream as he wanted to share his thoughts about what was happening.
However, when the video came on, it was of a naked man touching his private parts.
Shocked, Yap – who was the livestream admin – ended the session.
It’s reported that Tong’s followers tried to track him down virtually, but the culprit had quickly changed his account.
Using a screengrab of the livestream sent to her by her fans, Tong uploaded a post telling-off the man: “Please seek professional help if you have psychological problems. Respect others, respect yourself!"
The former Mediacorp actress told a Chinese publication that she didn’t lodge a police report or alerted the Instagram as the man did not upload offensive images to her social media.
Also, she hoped he would take it upon himself to change his ways.
This doesn’t mean the 38-year-old isn’t angry about what happened. She said she would share the man's details with her celebrity friends if they asked so they can avoid a similar incident.
A news portal quoted Tong: “When I had another livestream session with (singer) Yise Loo, we also allowed fans to participate in the livestream. But all we did was sing a few songs...
"I didn't know the world would be so heinous, I really should be more careful in the future."
