While everyone was getting ready to hunker down for the lockdown, actress Puteri Sarah was executing a plan to help those in need.
On June 1, the actress shared on her Instagram that she wants to give out free lunch to needy families during the lockdown period.
She told mStar – The Star’s Malay portal – that this is an effort she’s doing with business venture Izdihar Rizkallah, which gave her a meal while she was in self-quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19 last month (May).
“Izdihar Rizkallah gave me food to review while I was in self-quarantine,” the 35-year-old shared with mStar.
“They wanted to give me food the entire 14 days I was in quarantine, but I thought instead of giving me food it’s better to give someone who can’t afford it. It was really from there that this idea to work together started.
“I thought if I can get free food, why not others. I want to help those who are are affected during this lockdown,” explained Puteri Sarah, who is married to director-actor Syamsul Yusof.
The Sabarlah Duhai Hati actress welcomes needy families from the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor area to directly message her via Instagram, and Izdihar Rizkallah will deliver the meal.
“Do not be shy. Just DM me and we will send the free food to you, in KL and Selangor area only,” she wrote on Instagram.
According to the report by mStar, only a few people had contacted her so far about access to the free lunch.
The actress hopes more people will message her soon.
