Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt shared her Covid-19 diagnosis with fans on April 2.

"Hello all, I have tested positive for Covid-19. I have immediately isolated myself and will be under home quarantine," she told her 50 million-strong Instagram followers.

"I am following all safety protocols under the advice of my doctors. Grateful for all your love and support. Please stay safe and take care."

Three weeks ago, the 28-year-old was filming her upcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi when the Indian media reported its director Sanjay Leela Bhansali had tested positive.

Production was immediately halted. Around the same time, her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor also tested positive.

Both Sanjay and Ranbir have since recovered.
