Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, 38, has tested positive for Covid-19.
The news was confirmed by Ranbir's mother, Neetu Kapoor, via an Instagram post on March 9
"Thank you for your concern and your good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19," she wrote about the actor who's known for his performance in the 2018 Sanjay Dutt biopic, Sanju.
She reassures fans: "He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self quarantine at home and following all precautions."
Meanwhile, famed indian director Sanjay Leela Bhansali reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 too, according to an anonymous source who spoke to The Indian Express.
However, the Devdas director has yet to confirm the news himself.
Sanjay was reportedly in the midst of filming Gangubai Kathiawadi when he tested positive. Cast and crew members including the film's lead star Alia Bhatt, who is also Ranbir's girlfriend, have now gone into quarantine.
“SLB has tested positive for Covid-19, and he is under self quarantine, Alia too has quarantined herself since SLB and Ranbir both have tested positive. Everybody who has come in contact with Sanjay have taken the test.”
