Rain will be making a splash on the small screen this year with a new series, Ghost Doctor.
According to soompi.com, the actor and K-pop sensation has accepted the offer to play the lead role, doctor Cha Young-min, in the series which blends medical and supernatural elements.
The series, written by Winter Sonata's Kim Eun Hee, sees the spirits and bodies of two doctors with conflicting personalities inexplicably intertwined.
Ghost Doctor will be directed by Boo Sung Chul, who is known for helming dramas like The Inheritors and Jang Ok Jung, Lives in Love.
Production house Bon Factory, whose past works include What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, She Was Pretty and Encounter, is set to produce.
This marks Rain's first TV role in two years since 2019's Welcome 2 Life. Before that, the 38-year-old has starred in hit shows Full House (2004), A Love To Kill (2005) and My Lovely Girl (2014).
No airing date has been set yet but it is expected to premiere in the second half of the year.
