It looks like we will have to hunker down for quite a while some more, with the number of daily Covid-19 cases hitting the 5000-mark recently.
It's a good thing then that a couple of exciting new TV shows and a returning favourite is coming to Malaysia this February.
Penthouse Season Two
It usually takes a year for a TV show to return with a new season. But K-drama Penthouse was so well-received that it was given a second and third season order less than halfway through its first season.
As such, filming for the new season started while Season One was still airing. Season Two arrives Feb 20, just over a month after the Season One finale on Jan 6, offering viewers a deeper look into the oh-so-scandalous characters that live in a 100-storey luxury apartment.
Penthouse Season Two premieres Feb 20 at 9.45pm on One HD (Astro Ch 393).
Girl Next Room
Girl Next Room comprises four standalone romantic shows set in an all-women boarding house, Jamjan Boarding House.
In Motorbike Baby, Sundae has trouble choosing between an old flame and a new love interest.
In Midnight Fantasy, Mimi is always falling asleep in class, as she stays up late to tune into a late-night radio show.
As the series progresses, she realises there are some similarities between a fellow sleepyhead in her class and the radio deejay she listens to.
In Richy Rich, the wealthy Duchess is terrified about people finding out about her humble beginnings.
Lastly, Security Love chronicles the love story between a model and a security guard.
Girl Next Room is available on Dimsum Entertainment.
The Rookie
Two years after The Rookie first premiered in the United States, the cop show is finally airing in Malaysia.
Based on a true story, the series follows John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), a newly-divorced 45-year-old, who decides to close down his construction company and start anew by becoming a police officer.
After graduating from the police academy, John joins the Los Angeles Police Department. Despite being the oldest rookie in the force, he is determined to prove his mettle and dedicate his life to serving and protecting the community.
The Rookie premieres Feb 23 at 10.40pm on AXN (Astro Ch 701).
Superman & Lois
Just as Supergirl comes to an end after six seasons this year, another Kryptonian takes flight. Its spin-off Superman & Lois will see a lot of life-saving pursuits for sure.
But the series will also focus on the titular couple's efforts in raising their two boys Jonathan and Jordan Kent. Starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch.
Superman & Lois premieres Feb 24 at 9pm on Warner TV (Astro Ch 719/unifi TV Ch 451).
Ginny & Georgia
Do you miss the heartwarming mother-daughter drama Gilmore Girls? Good news! The upcoming Ginny & Georgia sports a similar premise.
Ginny is 15 and she's a lot more mature than her mum Georgia, who is always having some kind of run-in with the law. Together with Ginny's brother Austin, the trio decide to lay down roots in a cozy town in New England.
But the show has a darker feel to it, as Georgia is always on high alert and seems to be running away from something. Starring Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry.
Ginny & Georgia premieres Feb 24 on Netflix.
