South Korean actress Park Min-young is once again the main cast member of the popular mystery-solving reality show Busted!, which enters its third and final season this year.
The Netflix series – which is premiering its latest episodes on Jan 22,2021 – showcases a group of “detectives” solving cases in each episode. These detectives are well-known names in the South Korean entertainment industry.
Park is one of the detectives since the show started in 2018. Other celebrities include Yoo Jae-suk, Ahn Jae-wook, Kim Jong-min, Lee Kwang-soo, Oh Se-hun, Kim Se-jeong and Lee Seung-gi.
In a recent press conference in South Korea, Park mentioned: “After going on this show, I started to play roles who are very intelligent women.
“The show made me look smarter than I really am, so I got to play smart characters in dramas like What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.”
The happenings in Busted! are mostly unscripted, with the detectives solving each puzzle the best they can with the clues that are given. This, being a reality show, the situations ignite a lot of hilarious and unexpected moments among the participants.
From the start, Park proved herself to be a valuable member of the team as she could sometimes figure out the clues much earlier than the other detectives.
When StarLifestyle spoke to Park in 2019, we asked her if she had always been interested in solving mysteries as she seems to have a knack for it.
The 34-year-old told us: “I am a big fan of Sherlock Holmes, a huge fan. But liking something and doing it yourself are two different things.
“In Season One, I wasn’t given any hints or explanation of what was going to happen, and I was bewildered in many situations.
“But to survive I had to solve the puzzles because there were times when the walls were closing in on me, and I really thought I was going to die.
“But I started to watch this TV show in Korea where really smart people appear and solve difficult questions. I found myself watching that show in my free time and learning how they solve problems.
“Now I have grown to enjoy solving puzzles.”
The K-drama queen has appeared in many hit shows including Healer, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Her Private Life and last year’s When The Weather Is Fine.
