Seasoned Hong Kong actress Lee Heung-kam passed away on Jan 4, according to numerous reports by the Hong Kong media. She was 88.
The news was confirmed by Lee's daughter.
According to Sinchew Daily, the actress's health was rapidly deteriorating and she was in and out of the hospital throughout December.
Lee was born in the Shunde District of the Guangdong province in China.
At 16, she began her showbiz career as a Cantonese opera singer.
She later ventured into TV dramas. Lee was a fixture on TVB dramas for many years including 1996's The Good Old Days and 2008's Moonlight Resonance.
