As seen in Wonder Woman 1984, actor Chris Pine – who plays pilot Steve Trevor in the film – tries on a whole lot of outfits from that decade for a scene.
For that entertaining sequence, Pine’s Steve dons the same look made famous by the characters in the TV series Miami Vice, followed by parachute pants, to name two.
Apparently he tried on more than what's shown in the film, including one item that the actor absolutely loved from the 1980s fashion vault that didn't make the final cut.
“In terms of how many outfits (I tried on), there was a lot of stuff thrown at me,” he said during a virtual press conference that StarLifestyle attended.
The 40-year-old added: “I was madly in love with a denim fanny pack.”
During an appearance on Live With Kelly And Ryan to promote the DC film, the Star Trek star told the host: "The fanny pack, I will say, is a very clever device.
He elaborated: "I think for a gentleman, or anyone who wants to wear well-fitted pants, the fanny pack provides both a protection of the silhouette of the pant while also providing incredible storage space."
At the press conference, director Patty Jenkins touched on this as well.
“You know what are the ones I missed? I missed the ones you tried on when we were figuring out what you would try on. There were some winners!
“Remember the cowboy hat, and the denim vest? There were definitely great ones.”

Set in the 1980s – an era of excess driven by the pursuit of having it all – the film has Wonder Woman stepping up to save the world again, this time from two super-villains who want more than what they have, regardless of the costs.
While it would be a spoiler to tell exactly how Steve returns to Wonder Woman’s life, Pine did talk about his return in the film’s production notes.
“I was so happy to come back, and this time be the fish out of water, like Gal played in the first film.
“Now it’s Steve who is someone getting to know a big, wide new universe for the first time. It was fun to play that positivity... and being in awe of the most magical and also banal things in the world. Like a microwave.”
“But it was a bit harder than I expected it to be. It was a challenge to pretend to be a child in the world saying everything was great fun and everything became a moment for excitement. But yeah, we had a blast."
