Hit TV series 'Boys Over Flowers' gets Thai remake; see the trailer

Bright Vachirawit leads the cast of 'F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers'.

The story of two people in love despite their class difference will continue to mesmerise viewers in 2021, with the Thai TV adaptation of Hana Yori Dango in the works.

Hana Yori Dango is a popular Japanese manga that has spawned many successful TV iterations over the years including Taiwan's Meteor Garden in 2001 starring Jerry Yan and South Korea's Boys Over Flowers in 2009 starring Lee Min-ho.

The former received a reboot later in 2018 with a Mainland China cast and crew.

The crux of the story revolves around a quartet of rich and handsome university students whose worlds are turned upside down when its leader falls for a strong-willed female protagonist from a modest upbringing.

From the looks of its trailer, Thai remake F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers is sticking closely to the original plot line, with four dashing but spoilt college students MJ (Nani Hirunkit), Ren (Dew Jirawat), Kavin (Win Metawin) and leader Thyme (Bright Vachirawit).

The four are seen bullying a student at the start of the trailer. Later, Thyme encounters a female student who grew up in a family of modest means, Gorya (Tu Tontawan), who challenges his perspective.

No date has been set for the show's premiere yet.
