Can you believe it's been 25 years since the release of Kau Ilhamku?
The evergreen hit, which became a staple on radio stations (and not to mention, many school Teacher's Day performances!), was written by Asmin Mudin in 1993 and released as part of Man Bai's debut album in 1995.
To commemorate the milestone, the 53-year-old singer has released Kau Ilhamku 2020, with the help of composer and music arranger Mac Chew.
"This isn't the first time I've rearranged Kau Ilhamku," Man Bai tells Berita Harian, adding the song got an update in 2011.
"I want to take this song to the next level. I hope with this reinterpretation, this song will stay relevant."
In a 2013 interview with StarLifestyle, Man Bai says the song is a credit to God as his inspiration.
“Without God, I am nothing. Whatever we plan to achieve in life, whether we succeed or fail, it’s important to give thanks to God.”
