Local comedian and radio presenter Sharifah Shahira was about to leave the house on Nov 8 when she heard a loud noise all of a sudden.
"I was in my room getting ready," the Suria announcer recalls the moment to mStar, The Star's Malay-language portal.
"I was frightened when I suddenly heard a loud noise. And because my house was in a hilly area, I was afraid it was a landslide since we're experiencing the rainy season now."
She hurried out of her room to find the cause of the loud noise. "I was later told that a helicopter had crashed nearby."
On Nov 8 at 11.33am, two helicopters were believed to have collided mid-air, causing one of them to crash at Taman Melawati, Ampang.
There were two casualities: former Royal Malaysian Navy officer Mohamed Sabri Baharom, 56, of Wangsa Melawati, and Mohd Irfan Fikri Mohamed Rawi, 41, of Jalan Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
