Neelofa was ready to be rejected by international brands after donning niqab

TV host and entrepreneur Neelofa has been making waves both in and out of the country.

After solidifying her place in the local showbiz scene, the Kelantan native revealed in a 2018 interview she was taking her career overseas, signing with two talent management agencies in London and Paris.

Since then, there has been no shortage of top international fashion and beauty brands wanting to work with the 31-year-old.

On Oct 15, Neelofa went public with her decision to don the niqab, a veil that covers most of the face except the eyes.

With that in mind, some wondered if Neelofa's new appearance would have an effect on her career?

TV host, actress and friend of Neelofa, Uyaina Arshad, posed the question to her on Oct 23 during an Instagram live session.

"I was ready for any possibilities including being turned down or labeled as an extremist," Neelofa answered.

"Instead they asked me, 'how can we (the brand) fit in with your new appearance?'"

Uyaina added: "Her answer gave me goosebumps."
