Local singer Sandra Dianne dead at 25 from car accident injuries

Sabahan singer Sandra Dianne breathed her last at 1am on Sept 11. She was 25 – only five days shy from her 26th birthday.

A representative from Sandra's record label Sony Music, Veea Norman, confirmed the news to mStar, The Star's Malay-language portal.

Sandra, who was competing in the reality singing series Big Stage, was involved in a car accident while on her way to rehearsals for the show in Putrajaya on Sept 5.

She suffered serious head injuries and was admitted to the intensive care unit at a Putrajaya Hospital. She was unconscious for six days before her passing.

Her body will be flown to Sabah and laid to rest in her hometown.

Sandra shot to fame with her breakthrough hit, Hey Kau!, in 2015.

She began her showbiz career in 2014 on the reality singing competition, Mentor Legend.
