Fourteen months after his disastrous cheating scandal, Hong Kong artiste Andy Hui is finally ready to start working on his career.
Hui made his first public appearance in over a year on the show Chill Club, where he opened up about his infidelity and his plans for the future.
During the segment, Hui told reporters that he had spent his break reflecting on his past and learning from his mistakes.
Though the scandal resulted in periods of hardship, Hui mentioned that he was grateful for the opportunity to start anew “on a better path”.
“I can’t confirm that I will be returning to work especially since the pandemic isn’t over. Anyway, the final decision lies with my company. However, I am standing here today to tell everyone I am 100% ready to face the future and bear the responsibilities of my actions, ” he said.
Hui also revealed that his wife, Sammi Cheng, had been supportive of his appearance on the show, telling him to “be natural and have confidence in himself”.
When asked if he had been in contact with Jacqueline Wong, Hui said he had not reached out to her, as that the actress was in his past.
However, he described his tryst with Wong as a “permanent scar” which would continue to serve as a reminder of his past as he works towards self-improvement.
Hui declined to comment on the romance between Roxanne Tong and Kenneth Ma – who was Wong’s ex-boyfriend – stating that “they can talk about their own relationship”.
