Malaysian singer Faizal Tahir is inviting fans to submit videos of everyday activities, which will be compiled and made into a music video for his upcoming single, Sumandak.
The title of the single is derived from a word in the Sabahan dialect, referring to a beautiful woman.
Faizal initially shared a snippet of the song alongside an illustration showcasing women of different ethnicity. This was followed by an invitation for fans to participate in the creation of the music video.
The singer's initiative has been well-received by fans, and he has received submissions from all walks of life. The collaboration is a unique way for Faizal to involve his fans as Malaysia enters the third phase of the movement control order.
Faizal explains that Sumandak is meant to evoke a positive, buoyant mood with its humorous lyrics and catchy melody, as times are stressful with the ongoing pandemic.
