Watch the historic Oscar Best Picture winner, Parasite, now!

Parasite

Having made history as the first foreign-language film to win Best Picture, you simply have to watch Parasite. The South Korean dark comedy, which explores the disparity between the rich and the poor, also picked up three other trophies for Best Director, Best International Feature Film and Best Original Screenplay.

Parasite is currently showing in local cinemas GSC, TGV and mmCineplexes for a limited run. It is airing on tvN Movies (Astro Ch 435) on Feb 15 at 10.05pm, Feb 16 at 4.10pm plus more air times. It is also available as a pay-per-view title on Astro’s On Demand VOD. platform.

Joker

Watch Joaquin Phoenix’s mesmerising performance as the DC Comics character dealing with mental illness which won him Best Actor. Also, keep an ear out for the works of Iceland’s Hildur Guðnadóttir, who became the first woman to win Best Original Music Score for a dramatic composition.

Marriage Story

Get a raw, unfiltered look into the life of a married couple in Marriage Story. The emotionally-charged performances by its cast members, especially Laura Dern who took home Best Supporting Actress, is spell-binding.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

The Quentin Tarantino flick, which captures the story of Hollywood back in the 1960s and 1970s, earned Brad Pitt the Best Supporting Actor trophy, his first Oscar in the acting category. Be sure to take in the film’s sumptuous sights too which won the Oscar for Best Production Design.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is available as a pay-per-view title on Astro’s On Demand VOD platform.

Rocketman

Follow the life of iconic singer-songwriter Sir Elton John in this biopic, which received an Oscar for Best Original Song for (I’m Gonna) Love Me Again.

Rocketman airs Feb 16 at 11.05pm on HBO (Astro Ch 411). It is also available on HBO Go.

Little Women

Last year’s Little Women marks the seventh time the Louisa May Alcott’s novel of the same name has been adapted into film. Discover what makes this period drama chronicling the life of four sisters - Meg, Jo, Amy and Beth March - so well-loved. It picked up an Oscar for Best Costume Design.

Little Women premieres in cinemas nationwide on Feb 13.

American Factory

When a Chinese multinational decides to expand its business to America and occupy a factory in Ohio, a clash in working culture between the Chinese and locals ensue. Produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, American Factory won the Best Documentary Feature Oscar.

American Factory is available on Netflix.

Hair Love

This heartwarming tale of a man doing his daughter’s hair for the first time before she goes to school bagged the Best Animated Short Film Oscar.
