The art world has a unique way to discuss climate action. For those who missed artist Chin Kong Yee’s #tomorrow exhibition at Wei-Ling Gallery in KL, you might want to check out this video. In this interview, the artist discusses living with flash floods in the Ampang area for nearly 50 years. Through the years, many of his large-scale works were destroyed due to his inability to move them out quickly.
In #tomorrow, Chin created works on leather that could be easily transported. He also went one step further and made high-collared sleeveless "trench coats" out of leather art.
In the last three years, Chin has carried out several performative works, which saw him walking around cities such as Venice and Kuala Lumpur in his wearable paintings. You can now listen to this artist's fascinating story.

This virtual exhibition by Muzium Negara welcomes you to a kampung scene, where traditional games take the spotlight.
From rubber band toss, batu seremban, sepak manggis to tin can phones, congkak and hopscotch, this exhibition contains both indoor and outdoor traditional games. Apart from being a useful education tool and nostalgia trip, this museum initiative also works to broaden the heritage of traditional games among young Malaysians, who might never have encountered them before.

VIRTUAL PLAY: DREAMS OF THE SECULAR LIFE

This virtual theatre production contains four seemingly unrelated stories. Using theatrical devices and the characters’ words and behaviours, Loh Kok Man from Pentas Project Theatre Production spins a tale that studies the human condition. He experiments with the idea that even when confronted with unexpected opportunities of destiny, humans will still continue to ignore the ethics and ideals of this world and rely purely on their own intelligence to solve a crisis.

VIRTUAL TALK: PORTFOLIO 2022 WITH U-WEI HAJI SAARI

Acclaimed Malaysian director U-Wei Haji Saari takes the hot seat in this recent public talk series Portfolio 2022 Iklim Sinema Asean held at the PORT arts space in Ipoh.
Hosted by Farid Rahman, a recording of this talk has been archived and is now available to watch on PORT's YouTube channel. It features an insightful conversation - mostly in Bahasa Malaysia - where U-Wei is in his element as he hits the regional cinema trail. As a film buff and historian, U-Wei engages the listener with his knowledge on Asean cinema, language, nuances, and issues observed through film in the region and beyond.
He also walks listeners through his idea of Malaysian cinema, characters in his movies and themes that matter most to him.

Organised by Malaysia Design Archive, this online reading group will be analysing American cultural theorist Sianne Ngai’s Ugly Feelings. It examines ideological and representational dilemmas with a focus on gender and race by bringing together references from film, literature, theory, and history.
