The upcoming 45 Years Boxset Of Blues Gang offers music fans a visual history of one Malaysia’s most iconic blues rock bands.
The boxset, put together by independent publisher Tempatan Fest, is limited to 200 copies, and it will be released this October.
“We have worked closely with the band members and have chosen over 150 photographs representing significant moments in Blues Gang's career,” reveals Seir Rashid, who is editing the book.
The boxset will include a hardcover pictorial biography book of the Blues Gang, an official band T-shirt, and an authenticity card (with band members' signatures).

The family of the late Jim Madasamy, Blues Gang bassist/founder member, also played an integral part in this archival project by contributing unpublished band photos and assorted paraphernalia.
"Jim was regarded as the band's archivist. He kept a record of the band's story, from the early days to the many interviews it did with the mainstream newspapers and magazines. We have over 60 clippings, including concert reviews, which will be a part of this book," adds Seir.
The hardcover book details the band’s school boy beginnings in Johor Baru in the mid-1960s right to the story of the Blues Gang career start in the Klang Valley in the mid-1970s and beyond.
The band’s classic line-up comprises Ito Mohd (vocals, harp, saxophone), Julian Mokhtar (guitar, vocals), Abdul Ghani Datuk Abu Talib (keyboards, guitar), Jim Madasamy (bass, vocals) and Shaik Karim (drums, vocals).
