When HK Chong, the founder and music director of The Canticle Singers (TCS), decided to marry classical with non-classical numbers at last year’s Bravissimo concert, it was just an experiment.
“We wanted to see how accepting the audience was of classical music - opera in particular - when no English libretto or notes were provided in the programme,” says Chong.
