Exotic options beckon after a day of fasting


The Ottoman Platter is inspired by Middle Eastern, Greek and North African flavours.

PICKING where and what to eat for the breaking of fast can be a daily conundrum.

Huckleberry Café has a menu featuring a selection of interesting buka puasa dishes.

From appetising Fennel Chicken to sweet loaf cake, there is always something for everyone to enjoy.

The Fennel Chicken (RM65++) is spring chicken cooked with orange, mustard, fennel and apple juice on low heat for 48 hours to infuse all flavours.

It is served with Jewel Persian Rice, Quinoa Tabbolueh and grilled pita bread, and is only available at Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) cafe, from 3.30pm onwards.

For vegetarians, there’s the Crispy Harissa Cauliflower.

Priced at RM35++, this turmeric cauliflower chunks are deep-fried to golden perfection, served with tahini yoghurt and harissa pomegranate sauce to whet appetites. The dish is available at BSC only, from 3.30pm onwards.

The new chef-crafted special, The Ottoman Platter is a meal inspired by Middle Eastern, Greek and North African flavours.

Each platter present a mixed grill (Saffron Chicken, Lamb Kofta, Beef Kofta), Persian Jewel Rice, Quinoa Tabbouleh, Turkish Ezmé Sauce, Garlic Sauce and pita bread.

It is accompanied by a choice of dips: Muhammara, Moroccan Hummus, Zalouk and Babaganoush.

The platter for two is priced at RM132++ while the platter for four is RM260++ and are available at BSC and Damansara Heights cafes.

Orders for the platter made by 5pm will be delivered in time for the breaking of fast.

Festive gifts are available with a choice of Amal Dates Gift Box, Sugee Loaf Cake (RM190++), and Rose Pistachio Loaf Cake (RM190).

The Festive Artisan Cookies (20 pieces) offers Crunchy Dates Shortbread (RM23++), Cherry Spritz (RM23++), Rose Checkers (RM23++), Almond Shortbread (RM25++), and Pistachio Shortbread (RM29++) while Pineapple Tarts sell for RM62 per box of 45.
