WITH the world as it is, families in Penang may want to scale down traditionally large Chinese New Year gatherings into more intimate affairs.

Sauteed Broccoli and Mushrooms in Superior Oyster Sauce offers a healthy dose of greens.
Completing the savouries are Wok-Fried Prawns in Kam Heong Sauce and Lotus Leaf Rice with Chicken, Mushrooms and Dried Shrimps.
Dessert comes in the form of Sweetened Snow Fungus and Dried Longan with Mandarin Orange Skin and Shanghai Pancake.
