KUALA LUMPUR: At the Cannes Film Festival in May this year, much of the focus was on Asian cinema – from Singaporean director Eric Khoo's Be With Me opening the Directors' Fortnight section of the festival to the numerous Asian stars and filmmakers gracing the red carpet.
The growing Asian presence at Cannes is an indication of the ever-growing global interest in Asian cinema.
