Zao Wou-ki painting breaks record


Some of Zao Wou-ki's paintings that were on display at an exhibition in Kuala Lumpur last year. One of the painter's pieces, 'Abstraction', has been sold at an auction for a record-breaking price.

The Chinese artist’s work was sold for more than RM40mil in a major auction.

A work by modern painter Zao Wou-ki sold for 76 million yuan (US$12.47mil/RM41.15mil) last weekend at Sotheby’s first major auction in China, breaking the record for the artist’s work set earlier this year in Hong Kong.
