Overhang piles up on new builds


RECENT data from the National Property Information Centre (Napic) showed that the Malaysian property sector dipped again, with total market volume and value transacted down 4.6% and 2.4% year-on-year (y-o-y), respectively, with 187,230 transactions worth RM105.12bil.

The drop in market activity was telling, as transaction volume fell to its lowest level since the first half of 2022 (1H22).
