Double down on green transition, avoid GST

The Prime Minister is correct to focus on the fuel subsidies and not the reintroduction of GST.

IT is time for Malaysians to unite and push for a green transition and good governance, while also putting the goods and services tax (GST) debate on the back burner – at least for the rest of this parliamentary term.

The GST debate has been around since the early 1990s. Lately, it is once again distracting public debate and being presented as a cure-all solution.
