KUALA LUMPUR: Foodie Media Bhd remains optimistic about its prospects for the financial year ending Aug 31, 2027 (FY2027), supported by the continued shift in advertising spending towards digital and social media platforms.

The group said it would continue investing in its content production, key opinion leader (KOL) network, affiliate commerce and events business, while expanding its offerings to new clients.

Foodie Media said its positive outlook was underpinned by growth across its 4C business pillars of content, creator, commerce and community, as well as a net cash position of RM52.7mil, excluding lease liabilities.

For the fourth quarter ended Aug 31, 2026 (4QFY2026), the digital media publishing company posted a net profit of RM4.55mil, or earnings per share of 0.51 sen compared with RM420,000, or 0.06 sen in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue surged 82.5% to RM15.8mil from RM8.7mil, driven by higher sponsored content and KOL marketing activities, as well as an increase in events.

Its gross profit rose 53.4% to RM8.1mil, although gross profit margin narrowed to 51.4% from 61.2% due to a higher contribution from the lower-margin events business.

For the full financial year, Foodie Media posted a net profit of RM15.7mil, up from RM9.3mil, while revenue increased 49.6% to RM55.5mil from RM37.09mil.

The content segment remained its largest revenue contributor, growing 28.8% to RM30.4mil, while creator revenue increased 59.8% to RM13.6mil.

Community revenue jumped to RM7.1mil from RM1mil, supported by its inaugural Monie Fest and an expanded events calendar, while commerce revenue rose 10.6% to RM4.4mil.

Foodie Media chief executive officer Nicholas Lim Pinn Yang said the group recorded revenue and profit growth across all four business pillars during its first full financial year as a listed company.

"FY26 was our first full year as a listed company, and we are pleased to have delivered record revenue and profit, with every one of our four pillars growing.

“Just as importantly, creator, commerce and community now make up close to half of group revenue, which tells us the 4C model is working as intended,” he said.

Meanwhile, the board declared a second interim dividend of 0.39 sen per share and a second special dividend of 0.61 sen per share, bringing total dividends for FY26 to 1.53 sen per share.

The total payout amounts to approximately RM13.6mil, representing 86.7% of profit attributable to shareholders.

Both dividends will be paid on Nov 19 to shareholders on record as at Nov 6.

As at Aug 31, 2026, Foodie Media held RM53mil in cash and short-term deposits, while net cash generated from operating activities increased 87.5% to RM14.5mil.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, the group expects its prospects for FY2027 to remain positive.
