KUALA LUMPUR: Bus Cap Bhd is unaware of any unannounced material corporate developments that could explain the recent sharp rise in its share price.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said it had made enquiries with its board of directors, major shareholders and other relevant parties following an unusual market activity (UMA) query issued by the exchange on Oct 14.

However, Bus Cap said certain matters were currently under discussion or negotiation, with announcements to be made once they become more definitive or are finalised.

“There are presently endeavors at the stage of being discussed or negotiated for which announcements on this will be duly made at the material time once such matters become more definitive or are finalised and confirmed,” it said.

The company said it was not aware of any rumours, reports or other possible explanations for the unusual trading activity.

Bus Cap shares fell 14 sen, or 11.48%, to RM1.08 as at 12.30pm. Despite the decline, the counter has surged 237.5% year-to-date.
