PETALING JAYA: IJM Corp Bhd
, via its wholly-owned subsidiary IJM Construction Sdn Bhd, has secured a letter of award from AT&S Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd for the manufacturing facilities construction project in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah, worth RM1.23bil.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, IJM Corp said the project involves the design and build of four-storey production, three-storey central utility building, and single-storey waste water treatment facility.
“The project is scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026 and is expected to be completed within 14 months from the commencement date.
“The project is expected to contribute positively to the revenue and earnings of the group commencing from the financial year ending 2027,” it said.
IJM Corp group chief executive officer and managing director Datuk Lee Chun Fai said the award builds on the capabilities IJM Construction has developed in advanced manufacturing.
“Semiconductor facilities demand a high degree of technical coordination across the building, mechanical and electrical systems, cleanroom environment and process utilities, while meeting demanding programme requirements.
“The scale and integrated scope of this project, together with its 14-month delivery programme, demonstrate our ability to manage technically complex projects at speed. We are also drawing on our construction and industrialised building system capabilities to support greater efficiency and delivery certainty.”
IJM Corp said the latest award follows RM909.5mil in semiconductor and medical technology projects secured by IJM Construction in August 2026, further extending its presence in fast-track advanced industrial construction.
“Following the latest award, IJM Construction’s outstanding order book stands at approximately RM10.6bil, providing multi-year earnings visibility across building construction, advanced industrial facilities and civil engineering.”
IJM Corp’s net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (1Q27) rose to RM137.4mil from RM95.60mil registered in the same period last year, driven by the construction and manufacturing and quarrying divisions. Revenue widened to RM2.29bil from RM1.73bil in the previous corresponding quarter.
In a note on its latest financial performance, IJM Corp said said revenue for the construction segment increased by 36.2% in 1Q27 from 1Q26, driven by higher construction work activities in tandem with the higher order book, while a higher share of profit from joint ventures and foreign exchange gains also contributed to improved earnings.
Meanwhile, revenue from the property development and manufacturing and quarrying divisions increased by 38.5% and 42.3%, respectively, in 1Q27 from 1Q26, mainly due to the completion of the sale of a parcel of land in the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park and higher deliveries of piles and ready-mixed concrete, respectively.
