Kinergy bags RM47.5mil DC project

KUALA LUMPUR: Kinergy Advancement Bhd has secured a RM47.5mil subcontract job from Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd for a data centre (DC) electrical package.

The energy and engineering group said that under the agreement, it will undertake the engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of core and shell electrical infrastructure for the hyperscale DC development in Port Dickson.

The scope encompasses high tension and low voltage distribution infrastructure, substations and switchgear, transformers, cabling, power distribution, lighting, uninterruptible power supply or UPS systems, electric vehicle charging, and associated controls and interfaces, it said in a statement yesterday.

According to its filing with Bursa Malaysia, the works are scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2028.

Kinergy executive deputy chairman-cum-group managing director Datuk Lai Keng Onn said the award signals the group’s growing recognition in the DC sector and reflects the increasing relevance of its technical capabilities in high-specification infrastructure.

The firm said the contract would strengthen its position in the DC ecosystem and expand the application of its engineering and energy capabilities in increasingly sophisticated infrastructure projects. — Bernama
