KUALA LUMPUR: Kelington Group Bhd has secured a RM172mil contract for engineering and early-stage infrastructure development works for an advanced data storage manufacturing facility in Kuching, Sarawak.

The integrated engineering solutions provider said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kelington Technologies Sdn Bhd (KTSB), secured the contract from a manufacturing company at the Sama Jaya Free Industrial Zone.

The contract covers site development, foundation systems and critical high-voltage power infrastructure.

The works are expected to commence immediately and are scheduled for completion by August 2027.

Kelington said KTSB had previously secured contracts and purchase orders worth about RM111mil from the same customer for the project, bringing the total value of awards to about RM283mil.

Chief executive officer Lim Seng Chuan said the latest contract expanded Kelington’s involvement in the project and strengthened its track record in supporting large-scale projects in Malaysia.

“The growing scope of our involvement reflects the confidence placed in our engineering and execution capabilities.

“We expect to secure more contracts from the Customer covering various scopes of work in the coming weeks in relation to the Project in Kuching, Sarawak. Any material development arising therefrom, including the cumulative contract value, will be announced by the company, as and when required,” he said in a statement.

Kelington said the contract wins are expected to contribute positively to earnings and support earnings visibility.

For the six months ended June 30, 2026, Kelington secured RM1.23bil in new contracts. Including subsequent wins of RM2.37bil and the latest contract, year-to-date contract wins stood at RM3.77bil.
