KUALA LUMPUR: HEYDOC Health Sdn Bhd and HansMed Modern TCM Sdn Bhd are proposing an integrated digital Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) service in Malaysia, combining virtual consultations, AI-assisted tongue screening and home delivery of medicinal products.

The proposed collaboration will leverage HEYDOC’s digital healthcare platform and network alongside HansMed’s TCM expertise to provide an end-to-end service covering digital screening, practitioner consultations, treatment recommendations, product fulfilment and follow-up care.

Under the proposed model, patients will be able to submit tongue images for AI-assisted screening before consulting qualified TCM practitioners remotely.

Practitioners will assess the screening results together with patients’ symptoms, medical history and other relevant information before recommending the appropriate course of action.

Where suitable, recommended TCM medicinal products could then be delivered directly to patients within designated service areas.

HEYDOC chief executive officer Dr Raymond Choy said the partnership aims to improve access to TCM by integrating digital consultations, AI-assisted screening and delivery into a single service.

“By bringing digital access, AI-assisted screening and delivery into one service, we aim to create another therapeutic option for our community with a more convenient and connected care experience,” he said.

HansMed director Dr Chris Hee said the collaboration would allow the company to extend its TCM expertise to patients seeking the convenience of remote consultations and home delivery.

The companies said the AI-driven tongue screening component would serve as a supporting tool for practitioners and would not provide standalone diagnoses or replace clinical judgement.

The service is expected to be rolled out in phases across selected major Malaysian cities.

Details on launch locations, service availability, eligible medicinal products, delivery coverage and pricing will be announced after the relevant clinical, operational and regulatory requirements have been addressed.
