Tan Chong Motor Assemblies, Perodua sales ink battery project agreement

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Chong Motor Assemblies Sdn Bhd (TCMA) has entered into a master agreement with Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd (PSSB) for Perodua's battery electric vehicle (BEV) project in Serendah.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing, Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd said the agreement sets out the general terms and conditions governing the provision of electro-deposition (ED) coating and painting line services, and the rental of assembly lines and related services by its subsidiary TCMA to PSSB for the project.

The filing said the agreement will be for three years from June 1, 2026 with an option to extend for another two years. PSSB will exercise this option at least six months before the term expires.

"TCMA shall provide ED coating and painting line services as well as rental of designated assembly line in consideration of the payments of service fees and rental charges to be made by PSSB.

"PSSB will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining all necessary approvals, permits and licences from the relevant authorities, complying with applicable laws and regulations related to the BEV manufacturing, and ensuring its project equipment is adequately insured,” the filing said. - Bernama
