’s joint venture (JV) with John Holland has officially delivered the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace: Black Hill to Tomago package for Transport for NSW, 18 months ahead of schedule.
The RM3bil project was awarded in 2022 to a 60:40 JV between the group’s Australian subsidiary, Gamuda Australia, and John Holland.
The project involves the design and construction of a 10km stretch of road between Black Hill and Tomago.
“The new 10km section of the road from Black Hill to Tomago forms part of the broader M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace, featuring a 2.6km viaduct over the Hunter River and floodplain, the Main North Rail Line and the New England Highway,” Gamuda said in a statement.
Gamuda Australia chief executive officer Ewan Yee said finishing the Black Hill to Tomago package ahead of schedule is a landmark achievement for Gamuda.
“This road project demonstrates the strength of our delivery model, engineering precision, and deep commitment to Australia’s infrastructure growth.”
