Bursa Malaysia publicly reprimands Techna-X

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd has publicly reprimanded Techna-X Bhd for breaching the Bursa Malaysia Securities Main Market Listing Requirements.

In a statement, the exchange said the battery manufacturing company was reprimanded for failing to issue its annual report that included the annual audited financial statements together with the auditors’ and directors’ report for the 18-month financial period ended Dec 31, 2025 (AR 2025) by April 30, 2026.

It noted that Techna-X had only issued the AR 2025 on May 8, 2026, after a delay of five market days.

Techna-X also failed to ensure that its sixth quarterly report for the financial period ended Dec 31, 2025 (QR6 2025), announced on Feb 27, 2026, took into account the adjustments stated in the company’s announcement dated May 14, 2026.

Bursa Malaysia said Techna-X was also required to carry out a limited review of its quarterly report submission, with the limited review to be performed by the company’s external auditors for four quarters commencing no later than the quarterly report for the financial period ended Sept 30, 2026.

It also needs to ensure that its directors and relevant personnel attend a training programme on compliance with the requirements, particularly those relating to financial statements, and ensure that its board reviews and assesses the adequacy and competency of the company’s finance and accounting resources and the company’s policies and procedures in respect of financial reporting.

"While Bursa Malaysia had not found any of Techna-X’s directors to have caused or permitted the breaches by the company, we wish to highlight and remind them that it is the duty of the directors to maintain appropriate standards of responsibility and accountability in ensuring compliance with the regulations,” it added. - Bernama
