Kossan 2Q net profit doubles on stronger glove sales

The company's revenue jumped to RM568.88mil from RM382.19mil in the comparative quarter.

PETALING JAYA: Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd’s net profit doubled in the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2Q26), as the gloves division reported a 53.43% year-on-year (y-o-y) surge in revenue on higher average selling prices (ASP) and sales volumes.

In a stock exchange filing, the group said net profit in 2Q26 rose to RM64.47mil from RM31.15mil in the year-ago quarter, while revenue jumped to RM568.88mil from RM382.19mil in the comparative quarter.

It said the gloves segment contributed revenue of RM483.5mil as compared with RM315.1mil in 2Q25.

In other business segments, the technical rubber products (TRP) division contributed 23.34% higher revenue of RM53.8mil due to higher deliveries of TRPs products, while the cleanroom division’s revenue increased 34.68% to RM31.5mil, on higher ASPs and sales volumes.

For the six-month period ended June 30, 2026, Kossan recorded a net profit of RM103.99mil as compared to RM66.81mil in 1H25. Revenue rose to RM1.04bil from RM869.54mil in the same period in 2025.

Kossan said the global glove industry continues to show gradual signs of recovery, supported by sustained demand from healthcare, industrial and specialised applications, together with healthier customers’ inventory levels and more normalised replenishment patterns.

However, the industry continues to face persistent global oversupply and ongoing volatility in raw material and energy costs.

The group believes it is well positioned to navigate the evolving market environment.
