Amway’s 2Q profit more than triples to RM8.7mil

The group proposed a dividend of five sen per share for the quarter.

PETALING JAYA: Amway (M) Holdings Bhd’s net profit has more than tripled to RM8.7mil in the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2Q26) from RM2.43mil a year earlier, mainly due to product price adjustments.

Quarterly revenue rose 1.9% to RM271.7mil from RM266.7mil, mainly driven by promotional sales of its cellular health product and partially offset by softer consumer demand in other product categories.

Its profit before tax jumped 220.6% to RM11.94mil from RM3.72mil a year ago, mainly attributable to product price adjustments to support the group’s target operating margin.

Earnings per share increased to 5.29 sen from 1.48 sen previously.

In the first half ended June 30, 2026 (1H26), its net profit fell 7.9% to RM14.4mil from RM15.6mil, while revenue declined 4.8% to RM533.79mil from RM560.98mil.

The group said the lower revenue in 1H26 was mainly due to continued softer demand, partially mitigated by contributions from the cellular health product.

“The market conditions are expected to remain challenging for the remainder of 2026 as consumers continue to exercise caution in their spending,” Amway said.

The group will continue to focus on the health and wellbeing segment, particularly science-backed solutions that support healthy ageing and long-term wellbeing, while adapting its business model to changing consumer preferences.

It has also planned disciplined investments to strengthen sales capabilities, support product innovation, and enhance digital and physical infrastructure.

“The cautious consumer environment is expected to continue weighing on the group’s sales for the remainder of the year.

“However, as a result of prudent investments and product price adjustments, profitability is expected to stabilise,” it said.

The group proposed a dividend of five sen per share for the quarter.

Amway closed unchanged at RM4.46 yesterday.
