PETALING JAYA: Borneo Oil Bhd
has announced that its chairman Tan Kok Chor has passed away at the age of 76.
“The board of directors of Borneo Oil wishes to announce with deep regret the passing of Tan on Aug 4. Accordingly, he ceased to be the chairman of the company with (immediate) effect due to his demise.
“The board extends its deepest condolences to his family and expresses its sincere appreciation for his invaluable contributions and dedicated service to the company.”
With extensive experience in business, legal and administrative fields, Borneo Oil in its annual report said Tan brought a comprehensive perspective to his role.
His background included expertise in navigating complex regulations, ensuring legal compliance and streamlining processes, which helped him balance business acumen with rigorous standards, said the company.
Beyond his role with the organisation, Borneo Oil said Tan served on the boards of several private companies in Malaysia, which highlighted his broad influence and recognition in the business community.
