Bursa Malaysia mulling incentives to boost MyValue Up programme participation

Bursa Malaysia Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Fad’l Mohamed.

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia is considering incentives to encourage greater participation in its MyValue Up programme as part of efforts to strengthen long-term value creation among listed companies.

Chief executive officer Datuk Fad’l Mohamed said that while incentives are being evaluated, the exchange will continue to prioritise ensuring participating companies demonstrate genuine commitment to improving long-term shareholder value.

"Yes, we are looking at potential types of incentives that we can provide. But for us, the focus remains on seeing that companies show genuine commitment to this long-term value creation plan, rather than just looking at incentives,” he told reporters after Bursa Malaysia’s first half of 2026 (1H 2026) financial results briefing today.

He said the voluntary programme, launched on April 20, has already gained encouraging traction and attracted strong interest from public-listed companies (PLCs) as well as institutional investors.

Fad’l said Bursa Malaysia expects participating companies to begin submitting their long-term value creation plans by the end of this year.

The programme is expected to gain greater momentum from early next year once the submissions become publicly available, allowing investors to assess companies' value-creation strategies.

"The MyValue Up programme aims to enhance market recognition of corporate performance and encourage local value creation, particularly among companies with a market capitalisation exceeding RM4 billion.

"The programme is also intended to help participating companies better articulate their long-term value creation plans, strengthen investor engagement and provide investors with greater visibility into their long-term strategies,” he said.

He added that Bursa Malaysia will continue engaging targeted PLCs and encourage voluntary participation in the programme. - Bernama
