KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines has renewed its strategic partnership with Johor Darul Ta'zim Football Club (JDT FC) for another three years, extending the collaboration until 2029.
In a statement, Malaysia Airlines said the renewed agreement will see it continue as JDT FC's official airline partner, supporting the club's travel for domestic and international competitions through its network.
The partnership renewal was formalised at a ceremony held at the JDT Headquarters at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium. Prior to the signing, a Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) delegation met with the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, at Istana Pasir Pelangi.
MAG president and group chief executive officer Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar said the partnership reflects the national carrier's commitment to supporting Malaysian sports while strengthening its engagement with local communities.
"We are pleased to extend our journey alongside Johor Darul Ta'zim FC as their Official Airline Partner. JDT has set a benchmark for success, driven by world-class discipline and an unwavering winning mindset," he said.
JDT FC chief operating officer and technical director Alistair Edwards said the partnership has grown beyond sponsorship over the past four years.
"Our relationship with Malaysia Airlines has evolved into far more than a sponsorship – it is a partnership of two major brands founded on a shared pursuit of excellence, consistency and pride," he said.
As part of the renewed partnership, Malaysia Airlines will also offer JDT supporters up to a 10% discount on eligible flights using a promotional code.
The offer is available for bookings made until Sept 30, 2026, for travel until Dec 31, 2026.
