KUALA LUMPUR: MI Technovation Bhd posted a higher net profit of RM55.21 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2Q FY2026), compared with RM15.78 million recorded in the same quarter last year.

Revenue rose to RM226.02 million in 2Q FY2026 from RM154.12 million in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

The semiconductor company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that its net profit for the first half ended June 30, 2026 (1H FY2026) surged 156.6 per cent year on year to RM86.19 million, from RM33.59 million previously, while revenue increased to RM393.78 million from RM273.67 million in the same period last year.

The company said the strong performance was driven by higher sales volume, improved average selling prices, an optimised product mix, better operational efficiency, and favourable foreign exchange movements.

"As a result, the group’s net profit margin more than doubled to 21.9 per cent from 12.3 per cent in 1H 2025.

"The outstanding 2Q and first half FY2026 results demonstrate the group's resilient and sustainable growth, building upon the historical highs achieved in the previous year,” MI Technovation said

Based on the current business outlook, MI Technovation expects the positive momentum to continue into the second half of FY2026, primarily supported by sustained demand from the mobility and wearables, as well as the high-performance computing and memory segments.

"At the same time, we remain attentive to prevailing macroeconomic, geopolitical and supply chain dynamics that could affect the momentum.

"Looking ahead, the demand outlook is set to strengthen even further in the second half of FY2026 compared to the first half of FY2026, and management is highly confident and enthusiastic about delivering an exceptional, standout performance in FY2026,” it added. - Bernama
