PETALING JAYA: Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Sir Dr Jeffrey Cheah led a high-level delegation to Indonesia this week, where senior leaders from across the Group met government, business, education and healthcare counterparts to forge strategic partnerships and explore new opportunities in one of South-East Asia’s fastest growing economies.
Anchored by Cheah’s keynote address at the Times Higher Education Global Sustainable Development Congress 2026, Sunway said in a statement that the three-day visit included engagements hosted by Lippo Group and Sinar Mas Group, two of Indonesia’s most influential family-owned conglomerates with businesses spanning property, healthcare, education, financial services, technology and digital infrastructure.
“The delegation exchanged perspectives on integrated township development, newly established Special Economic Zones, toured educational campuses, as well as visited Siloam Hospital and the Mochtar Riady Comprehensive Cancer Centre (MRCCC), one of Indonesia’s top private cancer centres, where bilateral discussions centred on advanced oncology care, hospital operations, clinical excellence and patient experience.
“The visit concluded with an appreciation dinner for Sunway Healthcare’s Indonesian partners across the insurance, banking and medical sectors, recognising their longstanding trust and support in expanding the Group’s presence in the country.”
Sunway said Indonesian patients now account for the largest share of Sunway Healthcare’s international patient business, reflecting strong confidence in the Group’s specialists, medical centres, and integrated healthcare ecosystem.
