LAC Med secures RM78.9mil supply contract to public hospitals in Kedah

KUALA LUMPUR: LAC Med Bhd has bagged a RM78.9mil contract for the supply of reagents with related items for pathology chemistry tests to 10 public hospitals under the Ministry of Health in Kedah.

It said in a statement the contract was received via its wholly-owned subsidiary LAC Medical Supplies Snd Bhd from a healthcare concessionaire company.

The project encompasses the supply and delivery of products from a recently onboarded principal on an “Instrument

Placement” basis, with the group representing the global brand and marketing its reagents and consumables in Malaysia.

The agreement is valid for four years, from June 15, 2026, to June 14, 2030.

LAC Med said it has secured about RM105.7mil from the same brand so far. Its order book has increased to RM277.9mil, providing earnings visibility for the next three to four years.

“This sizable win not only validates our success in helping our new principals penetrate the Malaysian healthcare market, but also strengthens our recurring income stream.

"This is an untapped market for our group and a great opportunity for us to build a track record in supplying medical consumables," said LAC Med group CEO Liew Yoon Poh.
