Fire incident at factory of Foundpac unit

KUALA LUMPUR: Foundpac Group Bhd has reported a fire incident at a facility belonging to its wholly-owned subsidiary FP Stencil Sdn Bhd in Batu Maung, Penang.

In a stock exchange filing, it said the cause of the fire on June 14, 2026, which did not result in any casualties or injuries, remains under investigation.

The group said the full extent of the damage to the factory and its machinery and assets, or the financial and operational impact to the group, is yet to be ascertained.

FP Stencil, a manufacturer of laser stencils, is outsourcing orders to approved contract manufacturers to minimise the disruption to production.

"Based on the preliminary assessment conducted to-date, the Board believes that the incident is not expected to have a material impact on its overall financial position or operations," it said in the filing.

The plant and machinery and other assets of FP Stencil are covered under insurance policy, while the landlord has the building covered under its own insurance policy.
