Velesto Energy appoints Nasution Mohamed as chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Velesto Energy Bhd has appointed Nasution Mohamed as its chairman effective today. 

Nasution is currently Prolintas Group of Companies’ group chief executive officer, a position he has held since August 2025.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Velesto Energy said Nasution brings more than 30 years of senior leadership experience across diverse industries, including telecommunications, finance, aircraft leasing, property development and highway operation.

Nasution’s previous roles include Digital Nasional Bhd chief operating officer, Maxis Bhd chief financial and strategy officer, Penerbangan Malaysia Bhd managing director/chief executive officer and UDA Holdings Bhd executive director. 

"He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of New South Wales, Australia, and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants, Australia and New Zealand,” it said. 

Yesterday, Velesto Energy announced the retirement of its chairman, Mohd Rashid Mohd Yusof, following the conclusion of the company’s 16th annual general meeting on June 3. - Bernama
